Montmorency Family Backyard Landscaping

Project Details

This new family home in Montmorency required full front and backyard landscaping to get it ready for use.

From the front yard retaining wall and steps, down to the pool surrounds, outdoor living area and even a basketball court – we had our work cut out for us on a fairly steep block.

Some of the major landscaping steps included:

Excavating and preparing the site
Adding retaining walls along the front and side of the property
Concreting a half court basketball court and trampoline pad
Timber decking and granite paving around pool area
Low voltage garden lighting
Turf and irrigation installation
Fire pit area with mudstone steps and retaining rocks

As you can see in the photos, this major project turned an empty yard into a relaxing environment perfect for the kids to play in – and the parents to relax in.

Excavating & Site Work

Posi track machine extensively used on this project to prep site and place landscaping rocks

Retaining Walls

Concrete sleepers were used for the side of the wall and versa blocks for front yard

Concreting

100mm concrete slab was used with F72 mesh for paving slab, basketball court and front staircase paving slab

Decking & Timber Work

Decking around pool was built per engineer specifications, 90mm Merbu decking was the preferred choice fixed with stainless steel screws

Paving

800mm x 400mm silver granite was used for the paving, fixed by mortar to a 100mm concrete slab
Granite drop face copers around pool

Rock Work

Pink mudstone steps and landscaping rocks

Fencing

New 1.8m paling fences installed on boundaries

Plumbing & Irrigation

Pop up sprinkler using MP rotators controlled by Orbit control system, drip lines used throughout garden area

Garden Lighting

Havit black bollard low voltage lighting used to light up fire pit area and rock stair access

Fire Pit

Corten steel firebowl
Landscaping rock surounds

Planting & Lawn

Sir Walter buffalo and steel edging was chosen for the lawn area
A selection of native plants and trees throughout the garden
